We’ve arrived! …. Well, at least at our first stop, or would this be our third stop?
It’s been a long day + of travel, from Princeton at 6am EST to Dulles and Tokya before finally landing in Jakarta at 11:15pm local time, GMT+7hrs. We picked up our bags (which all made it!), checked in to our airport hotel (luckily, just a short walk from the terminal) and grabbed some midnight bakso, or beef soup, before tucking in for a quick night of sleep.
Tomorrow, September 1, we take a short flight to Yogyakarta and head to Pakem for our in-country orientation.
Everyone is doing well, a little sleepy but still practicing some Indonesian phrases.
Terima Kasih – thank you – and until later!
P.S. Another new Indonesian phrase! Pesona Indonesia is the tourism slogan for the country and means Wonderful Indonesia.
