Our warm welcome to Bhaktapur was when we got ripped off for three bars of soap and some nuts. It was tragic, our bargaining skills had failed us. We roamed the blisteringly hot and wet streets of Kathmandu in an absurd search of a lost STD shop (a place to call from). Our legs were shaking in a vain attempt to hold our overly fed bodies. Filled with dry rice and broken dreams, we finally stumbled into a local clothing shop (clearly a tourist trap). The three of us locked eyes for a moment. This was our redemption. Our brains began to work together like a well oiled Volvo engine. We got a pretty sweet bargain and saved two dollars on pants. It was a good day.
