Trek View on Nepal: Himalayan Studies Gap Year Semester with Where There Be Dragons

Hey Everyone! I can’t wait to meet all of you and embark on this crazy adventure together. My name is Haven! In May I graduated high school and, seemingly unlike all of my peers, I’ve never really known what I want to do in my future. Because of this, I chose to take a year off before diving into college. After attending a gap year fair to explore different program options, I learned about this program. Dragons really stuck out among all the other programs, partially because the name is way beyond intriguing, but primarily because of the emphasis they put on really being travelers that experience an area more authentically. But you’re all aware of all the components of the trip that drew us in, and I’m sure we’re excited for a lot of the same reasons. What we don’t know is each other. So here’s a little “first day of camp” run down of me.

Where are you from? I’m from a small town in Oregon called Joseph.

How old are you? 17.

Name 5 of your hobbies (in no particular order):

  1. Going to live music
  2. Camping
  3. Volleyball
  4. Singing
  5. Making new connections and friendships

What’s one random fact about you? The one food I won’t eat is lots of people’s favorite. I don’t like bacon.

What’s your favorite animal? A tapir.

I look forward to reading the rest of your introductions, but am much more excited to really get to know all of you over these next three months.

See you soon!
