JJ’s yak 9/20

I really appreciate how slow the mornings are in Ladakh. I feel Ladakhi’s in general live much slower lives, it is something I appreciate especially after walking around the monastary.

I also appreciate how open to sunlight the rooms are. There is less of a difference between the outdoors and indoors when sitting on the floor in the living room surrounded by windows. Reading is less of a distraction and more of a focus.

The overwhelming hospitality and kindess of the Ladakhis is also a culutral adjustment, you need to force your hosts to let you help at mealtimes. I’m looking forward to the homestays and eperiencing more of the culture and the challenges it brings.

Ladakh is like a completely different country when compared to my experiences of the rest of India.
