Kyra C. Intro

Processed with VSCO with p5 preset

Hi lovely dragon people!

My name is Kyra (some people call me Kiki) and I am from NYC (Manhattan). I’m currently taking a gap year between high school and college, and will be attending Hamilton College next fall. Basically I thought a gap year would be an incredible way to educate myself at a different pace and in a different way than what I am used to.

I love traveling.  I have been lucky enough to travel a lot with my family as well as different types of student groups (including to Cambodia, which I am so excited to return to). I like to bike & hike, though hiking really depends on convincing my dad to drive me places outside of the city (I don’t have my license lol).

I love the arts in a very general sense, whether it is as a spectator or an artist of various mediums.  I play piano and cello (and love music. A lot.) so separating from my instruments and my Spotify account will be #rough. Writing, especially poetry and short fiction, is a big part of my life as well. I also love reading (I’m currently finishing the last of the books in Elena Ferrante’s Neapolitan novels, which are amazing).

I’m so, so excited to meet all of you.  And maybe (definitely) a little nervous as well.

Not to make this any longer but I have a few short packing questions:

  1. Can I bring an iPod (one of the tiny screen-less shuffle ones)? Sorry if this has been outlined clearly, just asking
  2. Is there any sense in having a travel hammock or would it just be unnecessary added weight?
