Rallies in Jakarta

Dear friends, family and participants on the Indonesia semester,

I want to take a moment to address the news emerging from Jakarta about protests against the maltreatment of Rohingya refugees by the Burmese military. We’ve been receiving information from contacts and collaborators on the ground and the rallies in the capital played out without major incident. We will continue to monitor the situation, but please rest assured the rallies won’t impact our course. The plight of the Muslim Rohingya, many of whom are seeking asylum in Indonesia, is an aspect we’ll touch upon from a geo-political perspective, and that’s about it.

You can always call the office (303.413.0822) with questions/concerns, or email me directly at [email protected]

All the best,
