Our scavenger hunt experience is somewhat along the lines of what we expected it to be. We’ve had many awkward encounters with our broken Nepali, very sub-par bargaining skills at street side vendors, and lots of uncomfortable, yet not unfounded laughter. Despite such a big language barrier, we slowly, surely, and confidently are progressing through this quest. Although we are clearly outsiders, our mispronounced namaste is greatly appreciated and returned with a smile and a few short words (which we fly high above our heads). By the end of the hunt, we emerged semi-triumphant with more knowledge of directional skills, confidence, and memorable encounters.
