Tonight is the second to last night of our first homestay. Everyone has settled into their familes and has been growing used to the various Ladakhi customs. In our home there is our host brother, father, mother, and sister in-law.  Our host brother Dawa, aged four, loves to show off his dancing and play catch. He is always the life of the party and we love spending time with him. Hopefully we will figure out a way to upload a video of him dancing. Our host father speaks enough English so that we can communicate with him effectively. Our host mother and sister in-law love calling Dawa a “naughty boy” and laugh with us about it. Our family has been feeding us very well as they are all great cooks. We are very grateful for how well our family has been treating us, we both feel very well taken care of. Every morning and night we get to walk from the meeting house to our home which is a twenty minute scenic walk.

Today we ventured as a group to the tiny village brokba people of which there are only 20,000 in the world. The village is very vertical and was mostly built on rock . A stream wides down the village with a unique red moss following it.
