A Nepali man, Anil, told us that in the United States we have too many watches but no time and here they have no watches but all the time they need.
On a daily basis, I feel as though I am constantly running; a never ending track to get to my destination. Well, life isn’t just about reaching the destination. It is about valuing every step of the way. In Nepal the people live in the moment. Although most do have an idea of a destination being enlightenment, they don’t rush it. They walk instead of run and stop to soak in the beautiful wonders of the world. Being on “Nepali time” I have had to slow down immensely. Time is this non tangible thing we let dictate our lives. Yet the only thing that matters is the present moment. Don’t close your eyes and think about all the things you should have or could do. Just give each moment the appreciation it deserves. Know that every dip in the road to your destination is equally as important as every high.
