Today begins nine days of student-led travel. And what did they make us do? That’s right, an extremely bumpy 12-hour train ride from Yangon to Mawlamyine, the capital of Mon State. Here are some photos from the ride, including crossing the 2,815km long Salween/Thanlwin/Nujiang River which travels from a Tibetan glacier to the Andamen Sea.
1. Sam, who always practices good risk management, decides to only stick his noggin out the train while crossing the bridge over the Salween.
2. Had to wake up at 4:30am this morning so folks took advantage of the train ride to snooze.
3. Sarah, Ian, and Sam during one of the very frequent train stoppages.
