Trek View on Nepal: Himalayan Studies Gap Year Semester with Where There Be Dragons

Above the Clouds

One of my personal dreams was fulfilled when I saw the Himalayas. I had pretty high expectations, and in all honestly they were blown out of the water. Every time I gazed up on the snow-capped peaks or the unbelievable dome of stars, I would be struck in a different way. Always a full body experience, I would feel joy, smallness, fear, and love in every limb, every extremity. Neither photos nor words can really do the mountains justice, and so I won’t say much more. I’ll just say the 17 days we spent in the Himalayas was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had, and I felt like the luckiest guy in the world.
