Hi there! My name is Lillian. I am a junior at the Harpeth Hall School and I am so thrilled to be a part of this experience!
Though my family is originally from Tennessee, I was born in Hong Kong and lived there for fourteen years. Because of my close proximity to other Southeast Asian countries while living there, I was able to travel a lot, so this will be my second time going to India. I am part of a family of six, including my mother, father, two older sisters, and a dog. I spend most of my time outside of school doing theatre. I’ve learned a lot about collaboration, team-building, and moral fiber through theatre, so I hope to be able to translate what I have learned to my travels in India.
I’d say that my biggest goal for this trip is to grow in character. I want to learn how to struggle well, grow in empathy, expand my global awareness, and more importantly, apply what I have learned from my experiences when I return home. I don’t want to live in a safety bubble. I want to develop strong cohesion with my peers as we travel together, and I want to maintain a positive attitude and sense of adventure despite any hardships that are thrown at us.
I am so blessed to be a part of this incredible group and I cannot wait to see where our travels take us in January!
