Arrival Instructions

Dear fellow adventurers,

It is just one week until we will all be meeting together on the evening of 14th January! In this post I have included all the details concerning our meeting spot and how to get there, and in the days following we will have a full orientation that will answer all your questions that will set us up for the rest of the program.

We will be meeting at 6pm at the hotel in which we will all stay. We will get everyone settled into their rooms and then head out for a welcome dinner! We are staying at the Shechen Guesthouse (attached to Shechen Monastery), in the Mahankhel area of Boudha (a suburb of Kathmandu). You can find it easily on Google Maps; I have attached a screenshot here.

The guesthouse is set in beautiful gardens, has a vegetarian cafe, and a small library that we can use as a meeting space. It is a social enterprise that supports the living costs for the monks in the monastery next door. We will be staying there for three nights.

The easiest way to get there from the airport or another part of Kathmandu would be for you to get a taxi to Boudha. Many taxi drivers will know Shechen as it is a large and famous monastery. If they don’t, you can head towards the Mahankhel area of Boudha and get the taxi driver to call the guesthouse on +977-1-5178209. Rishi and I will be waiting to welcome you in the cafe downstairs as you arrive – feel free to come early to settle into the space!

We will post another yak answering the other questions that you have posted on this board shortly. We are really looking forward to meeting you all.
