Trek View on Nepal: Himalayan Studies Gap Year Semester with Where There Be Dragons

Namaste bidarthi haru,

The three of us are finally together! Located in the windswept mountain town of Nagarkot, we have been planning and organising the next three months and we are getting very excited!

Right off the bat we came to realise how similar our passions and desires are when it comes to facilitating this program for all of you. For the next three months we will be drawing on our diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Collectively we speak a total of 6 different languages and are excited to weave our passion for linguistics into this course. A key concept in this program will be ‘What does development mean?’ We will bring different perspectives on this issue as we have been both on the receiving and giving ends. Not only do we strive to bring our diverse cultural backgrounds with us, but also our academic as well. Other passions we also share and hope to implement in our course are issues concerning cultural identity, farming, and gender.

Since our time together we have also come to realise how much we each value having a sense of community and how vital it is when creating a productive learning environment.

Please make sure to, if you haven’t already, post your introductory yak and feel free to send us an email if you have any last minute questions.

We cant wait to meet all of you in only a few days.

Raamro sanga aunuhos!

Your I-Team
