Trek View on Nepal: Himalayan Studies Gap Year Semester with Where There Be Dragons

Student Introduction

Hey guys!

I’m assuming, like me, you’ve been counting down the days till we depart and finally get to meet everyone for the first time, but before that, let me introduce myself, my name is Shenandoah. Currently I am living in Asheville North Carolina and within the week I’ll be graduating high school! YAY! I am so excited to be a part of such a fantastic organization and explore such a beautiful country with like-minded individuals. I have been anxiously awaiting the day to fully immerse myself into the culture and world of another, learn to live life at a slower pace, forget the little things, and be present in the moment.

Traveling is a valuable experience, and one that I have chosen to pursue throughout my life. Across all of my adventures this one will be the most eye opening and long lasting. I am nervous as well excited to connect and live with the local families in Nepal and be able to walk a mile in their shoes, per say, but am thrilled to be able to share these experiences with others.

I have lived in Asheville for most of my life and have gone to school and played Roller Derby here for many years. I am excited to start the chapter of my life after high school with Dragons, to better prepare myself for the world around me and to go into college with a clear head. I hope to have unforgettable experiences with y’all so that we can make the most of our trip and create lasting connections.

YAY! Can’t wait to meet y’all in person and start our journey – Shenandoah
