China Sweeps: Not the Olympics

During our meeting with the students at the Champion Learning Center our Chinese Friends performed for us. There were so many great performances (not including ours) but the one that really stood out was from our friend Jack. Jack sang for everyone and as you can see in the photo it was quite literally jaw dropping. He began to hit high note after high note and left everyone breathless. Later on we saw a girl who played the pai ban. This is a instrument made from wood or bamboo used to make a clapping noise. During her performance she also mixed in some english poetry about trying hard and not giving up. This was very inspirational and showed the girls english skills. Then we went to lunch with our new friends. We sat and conversed both teaching each other new words in english and in Chinese. It was a great opportunity for everyone to practice their new language skills.
