The past three days we have spent trekking on the rim of the Kathmandu Valley. On the morning of the second day, I was struggling to get out of bed and get ready for the day. My mood immediately changed when our instructor Dave knocked on the door letting us know the mountains had appeared from behind the smog. I don’t think I’ve ever leaped up faster. I quickly grabbed my shoes, ran out of our room, and jumped up the stairs to the patio. I immediately stopped in my tracks when I first saw the mountains. I’ve never seen a mountain range so majestic and powerful at the same time. For the rest of the day, every time I saw the peaks out of the corner of my eye I couldn’t help but take a second to appreciate the beauty of them. They gave me motivation throughout the trek to keep walking in order to possibly catch a better glimpse further ahead. I am left in awe and looking forward to many more mountain views in the coming months.
