This is my third trip in three years to Jordan, and my second trip with Milton students. I have been traveling to Jordan since I was a Peace Corps volunteer in the small village of Iraq Al-amir in the later 1990’s. My two years of living in a small village and working with the Noor Al-Hussein Foundation helped shape a lifelong interest in Jordan specifically and the Middle East in general.
For me the biggest pleasure of this course is experiencing Jordan each year through the eyes of the students. For them everyday is a new adventure, and everything is new and exciting. I am also looking forward to our homestay in Disa, as this is a really unique experience, and symbolizes all of my hopes for experiential learning beyond the classroom.
It is hard to believe that in exactly 1 month we will be arriving in Amman!
