Siem Reap

Sadly, today was our final day in Siem Reap, and Cambodia. I am heart-broken to leave, but our last day here has yet again been extremely memorable. We started off the day meeting students close to our age, from a school called Pepy, and the experience made my day. I got the opportunity to talk with 4 of the students, and learn about their busy school schedules over a very delicious lunch in a local restaurant. The students were so humorous, and for only learning English for 4 months, I’d say they were doing extremely well. I really enjoyed bonding with them, and getting to know their future aspirations and goals. Then, we said our good-byes, and started the process of our transference. The transference activities ended up providing me with closure for the reason I participated on this service trip in the first place. My favourite activity was when we all expressed our gratitude towards one another. Later on, we went to dinner, and I believe it was one of the yummiest meals of our entire trip. Finally, to end off our last day in Cambodia with a POW, we all used our rocks we had each picked up from the killing fields earlier in the trip. We were able to share a few special words and thoughts for another person in the group, and I feel that this experience definitely brought us all closer together. Overall, it was another fantastic day in Cambodia.
