I’m 16 and a junior in high school. I love to travel, take photos, cook, and read.
I am most excited for the homestay- to be able to make a connection with a family completely different from my own and to see how they live their lives.

I’m from Lakewood, Ohio and I’m in 11th grade. In school I like history, math, and theatre. I wear a lot of jewelry and a lot of Converse. I’m really good at getting the last corner of bedsheets onto mattresses and making friendship bracelets.
I’m most excited about trying all new kinds of food and getting out of my comfort zone, especially in a new culture with a completely new style of dress.

I am 16 years old and I am a junior at Hathaway Brown. I really enjoy learning about science and aspire to be a doctor one day. I also play soccer for my school and enjoy being active.
I am most excited specifically about the homestay. But in general I am excited to learn about a culture that I know little about.
Lexi
I love reading, playing soccer, and driving! I have two cats and a younger brother and live with my mom and dad on the west side of Cleveland. I also really enjoy ceramics and most other art 🙂
I’m most excited about the homestay and just getting to experience India in general!
Katrina
I am a very outgoing and passionate person who loves doing almost anything from photography to diving!
I am most excited about the food and the homestay.

I’m most excited about everything!

I am a junior and this is my third year at HB. I really enjoy filmmaking and running. This will be my second time out of the country, previously I traveled to Italy, France, and Belgium. I have two dogs, a sheepadoodle and a cockapoo, and I have a younger sister.
I’m really excited for the homestay and experiencing village life first hand. I also can’t wait to try all of the new types of food!

While there a plethora of things I could possibly put down for this, some of my defining points are that I moved to Cleveland from New York in the summer of 2016, that I really love reading and writing, and finally that I love to run, especially long distance.
I am most excited for the homestay because I feel as if it is the closest I will ever be to understanding Indian culture and further it’s probably one of the coolest experiences I’ll ever have in my life.
Carolyn
I am a junior at HB. I love art, writing, and being outdoors. I have a poodle named Ruby who is 7 years old.
I am the most excited for the homestay and the ashram. I can’t wait to explore the culture of India and learn about it through people that live there and are gracious enough to welcome us into their lives for a little bit.
Casey
I’m a Junior at HB, and my favorite classes are English, Physics, and Business. I love to run, and I love to explore and spend time with my friends.
I’m most excited for our time at the Ashram and the homestay because I’m really looking forward to getting to know people with an entirely different life story and different experiences. I love learning about new people and hearing new stories.
Alise
Hi my name is Alise I am very excited to be leaving for India in the next week. India has always been a country I’ve wanted to visit. I have been fascinated by the people, culture, and history of the country since I can remember; thus, I am so grateful for the opportunity to experience India.
A little about myself, I am the 4th out of 5 children and I absolutely love it! I have three sisters and a brother, and we all have the most fun together. I also have an adorable bichon poo named Buffy. Cleveland has been my home for all 16 (almost 17) years of my life. Although I am not too fond of it myself, I will defend it without hesitation. I absolutely love the summer and all that comes with it: the heat, beaches. I play soccer and I work in a neuropathology lab at Case Western Reserve University, which consumes a lot of my time but it has been a great opportunity. I am obsessed with geography and how it effects the modern day politics of the world; however, the most important thing about me is that I am Italian and I am absolutely obsessed with being so. I love the food, culture, people, and so much more.
I am most excited about the homestay. I believe it will be a tremendously rewarding experience to truly immerse myself in Indian culture and family life. Last year, my family hosted a French exchange student for two weeks and within that time I was able to notice and cherish our cultural differences; thus, I am very much looking forward to the homestay.

I am a senior at Hathaway Brown and although I am sad about my time ending here I am excited to go to college in California! My favorite subject in school is chemistry which I will be studying for the next for years. I have an older brother and two younger sisters who I could not imagine life without. I have already traveled to Greece, China and Nicaragua so I am thrilled to add India to the list!
I am excited to travel to a country that is full of vibrant energy and colors. I cannot wait to meet people from India and connect with new smiling faces.
