Can You See the Wind?
By Clara Gardner
I feel it as a chilly breeze,
That greets the rising sun.
I feel it as the afternoon heat
That bakes the drying clothes.
I hear it in the laughter of the children
That rings throughout the village
And in the greetings of the elders
That welcome in a new day.
But can you see the wind?
I see it in the dust
That rises in spirals form the well trodden roads.
I see it in the many colored flags
That flutter high above the rooftops.
You can see it all around
If only you stop and wait.
