This past Saturday the students lead us on two mini x-phases (student lead days). One group went to visit the statue of Christ that overlooks Cochabamba and then went to a soccer game. The other group built a garden at Sandy’s house in Cochabamba. In the evening all the women gathered together for a bonfire and discussion about gender, while the men met to watch a film about redefining masculinity.
We’re here in Tiquipaya for only a few more days. On Thursday we’ll head to Potosí to learn about the mighty Cerro Rico silver mine and partner up with some local youth to learn about their everyday life in this high altitude mining town.
