Dear students, teachers, parents and friends,
My name is Ling and I’m the co-instructor for this China program this summer, so exciting to work with Mark this time, I believe we will have an incredible time with you!
I was born and raised in Chengdu, a major city in the South-West of China. At the age of 5 I began to learn about drawing which is still one of my favorite hobbies. Completed my official school education in this cozy city and started my journey since then. I has visited over 20 provinces, all the municipalities and two special economy zones in China and over 20 foreign countries mostly solo. Those experiences have helped to shape my character and learn different philosophies of life while getting an in-depth understanding of culture differences. I believe in Chinese saying :” 读万卷书 行万里路 ( Du Wan Juan Shu, Xing Wan Li Lu).” Which means study and travel are both very important to gain wisdom.
For me, China is my motherland, and to be fair it is one of the most amazing and complex places I’ve traveled through, the rich history, the incredible landscapes, the colorful minority cultures, I can list dozens of reasons why I find my country fascinating, but we have discussions and thoughts against the rapid development of society as well, and I think that dynamic and conflicting realities makes China one of the most educational destinations.
I have been working in travel and culture related fields for over 12 years now, I would say this infinite desire to learn and share knowledge in me pushes me to where I’m now. I absolutely looking forward to meeting everyone in the next week, we can’t wait to show you the land that used to be the Dragons’ Empire!
See you soon! 再见~
