A day in Nanyao

Today we had the morning to spend time with our family and help them around the field and around their home. Some of our families didn’t have work for us so they sent us to the field to pick plums. We used giant sticks to whack the plums off the trees so others could chase them down the hill to collect them for the village. After a couple hours of hard work, we returned for lunch with our individual families. Then we all reconvened for our daily meeting and to go to an NGO that specializes in bio-gas. Anthony, Jasmine, and Ben even cooked eggs on a flame sourced by energy made on site. We learned facts about China’s environmental struggles and had discussions on possible solutions. By the end of our conversations we were able to contrast China’s main ecological issues against our own!
