“If the price to sacrifice innocence, then there is no god, no reason, no truth, and no life.”
This was a quote we found at S21. Haverford visited the S21, which is a POW camp, and the killing fields. We learned a dark part of Cambodian history, which really opened our eyes to a different perspective of life. First, at S21 we saw various cells of inmates, torture tools and methods, and a video of different perspective as well. After, the killing fields showed us the gruesome and brutality of the deaths of various citizens and foreigners. Then we found the center of the killing fields, a memorial stacking up skeletons and weapons to 230 feet. It was a sad day, and we ended it off with a boat ride in the sunset.
