After a long period of planes, trains, and automobiles, we finally arrived to our maison d’hote, ate couscous, and slept well last night in our orientation site of Moulay Idriss. For our first orientation session in country we surprised the students with a trip to the souq (market). We asked the students to describe their experience in one word. The students said the market was intense, colorful, hot, and full of smells (good and bad). Smelly didn’t seem to fit. In the other sessions we discussed health and safety and cultural dos and don’ts.
Attached are a couple of pictures from our journey so far.
