Er Fo Temple

Making a drastic change from the general fashion of our trip so far, which has been visiting fast-paced urban areas such as Shanghai and Yichang, for the last few days of our trip we stayed at Er Fo temple in the ancient town of Laitan.
During our time in the monastery we did several activities such as praying, chanting, meditating and even having a silent day.  All of these gave us opportunities for introspection and reflection, they also gave us a chance to disconnect from the outside world and be completely present. We lived among monks and we went about our day the same way they did. This made us look at life from a completely different perspective.
Our time at the monastery was a break from the mega cities that China is famous for. But everything ends and now we move forward to the mountain city of Chongqing.
Updates on that soon.
