I learned a lot about food in Sittong. I was able to experience helping kill a chicken. It was the first time I witnessed the process right in front of me and it was both shocking and interesting. It was presented as a peaceful and caring exercise, in which I thought it was. We got to see and help out with the whole process up until it was being served on the plate. This included taking the feathers off, opening up the chicken, and cooking the chicken. So much went into every meal in Sittong, and helping out with the chicken just gave us a glimpse into all the work and detail of every dish.
