We have now finished our first day on trek and are roasting individually wrapped marshmallows over a bonfire.
Thousands of miles away from home, I have come to appreciate the little things that push me through the day.
In the midst of a massive swarm of flies and a humid heat, we are surrounded by a lush, green mountain range with wild horses and cows roaming everywhere.
If I listen closely, I can hear the river roaring nearby and other people’s muffled laughing in their tents.
The mountains have now disappeared behind a thick layer of fog and as the day comes to a close, we begin to look forward to a full day tomorrow.
