Trek View on Nepal: Himalayan Studies Gap Year Semester with Where There Be Dragons

belated hello !

Hi everyone !!

I know this hello is a bit late, and that I’ll be able to say ‘hi’ in person to you all in a few short days, but I figured I’d introduce myself anyways before we meet on Saturday –

My name is Charlotte but I’ve taken the nickname ‘Charlie’ since I was about ten years old. I spent the spring of my junior year at a semester school in Maine, where I think I really started to find the significance of non-traditional and experiential education. After I graduated high school, I knew that I wanted to take time to breathe and grow independently before returning to academia, so I decided to take a gap year before going to Colorado College next fall.

I love to learn about domestic politics, to analyze social theory and movement building, and to discuss resistance and change. I also really love to work with the earth, and I’m hoping/planning to spend the latter half of my gap year working on farms in South America, where I can attempt to learn Spanish and watch plants grow. I spent the summer working at a farm stand in my town, finding places to kayak and canoe, writing prose and reading any book I can find by Dave Eggers.

I’m so excited to begin this journey in just two days!! I’ll see you all soon –
