Football in Bhaktapur

As we were completing challenges in our scavenger hunt through Bhaktapur we met a group of kids playing with a tattered football (soccer ball). After tracing their hand prints and having them write their names as part of a challenge, they invited us to play a game. They took us to a toy store to get a new ball. The lady originally tried to charge us 6000 rupees, the equivalent of 60 dollars, but we eventually got the price down to 5 USD. We then returned to the dusty square where we passed and threw the ball around. Although we couldn’t communicate through words we were able to communicate through sport.
