Group Safe and in Yogyakarta

A quick update to confirm that the Dragons Indonesia semester group is safely in their homestays in Yogyakarta on the island of Java. Some of you may have heard news of the recent 7.5 magnitude earthquake near central Sulawesi and the tsunami that hit the coastal city of Palu afterwards.

Fortunately for our group, they did not experience any effects of the earthquake and did not feel any tremors in Yogyakarta, far away from the epicenter. They are not near the coast and so the risk of a tsunami is nil.

We are deeply saddened by the news of the earthquake and tsunami and our hearts go out to the people of Indonesia who have been impacted by the quake. The earthquake hit the north west of Sulawesi. The program does not visit this area and so this event will not impact our itinerary.

Thank you for your support.
