Hey everyone! Of course I waited until the last minute to do this but better late then never? I’m Sutter and I’m from San Francisco. I have lived there for my whole life so I’m super excited to spend a significant amount of time in another country and experience a different way of like. Like all of you I graduated in the spring, and next fall I will be going to Brown University. I love reading, writing, film, music, and all sorts of different art forms. One of my favorite things is going to concerts and finding new artists (I love the mosh pit!).  I also enjoy mountain biking and hiking–I just got back from a 3 week long backpacking trip I did with 3 friends.

I’m really excited to be going to Nepal with you all. What intrigued me about Nepal and Where There Be Dragons was that this trip is the intersection of many of my interests. I am interested in learning about all the religions practiced in Nepal, particularly Buddhism and Hinduism which I have been interested in since I was a little kid. I am also hyped for the treks because I’ve been missing the mountains since I got back from my other trip this summer. Above all, I think stepping away from everything I know and immersing myself in a place and culture I really know very little about will help me see beyond my own world and help me get a better understanding of myself and what I want to do moving forward.

This is gonna be an awesome trip!
