Post trek

I am writing this yak in desperate need of a shower. We just arrived back in Urubamba after our first trek. What an adventure. Although only three days, I feel like I have been gone forever. The trek was incredible. it felt good to move my body but also to see the stunning scenery around us. After the first two days I felt extremely accomplished. The first day was completely uphill- about eight hours of it. The second day was about half uphill. We had to climb up a pass in the highest altitude I have ever been in, with snow all around us. It was incredible to see how fast our guide who was born in the area could move but how much all of us were struggling. Despite the tired legs, we all really enjoyed ourselves.

Our first homestay starts tomorrow. I think I speak for all of us when we say we do not really know what to expect. I am hoping my host mom makes good food! There will definetly be updates on how the spanish classes and homestays are going. Time is running up on my computer in the internet cafe here in Urubamba. until next time.

XOXO,

Zoe
