Q&A: backpack

I bought my travel backpack a few weeks ago before the updated master packing list was posted on the yak board, so I bought a 70 liter pack following  the proportions listed in the earlier packing list in the CPM (65-80 liters). I am now seeing that the updated packing list calls for a 45 liter pack; do I have to return my other pack, or will the larger size work?

Also, will the flimsy daypack that comes with my big travel backpack work, or should I get a separate sturdier one?

Thank you so much!

Hi Mina,

Yes, I have updated the CPM to reflect this program better. You can return the pack if you want to Mina, it’s up to you (if you haven’t taken the tags off of course). The size of the pack isn’t as important as what you pack into it. Use your judgement but carrying an extra 1-2 kg in bag weight isn’t a big deal. As for the day pack, again, it’s up to you. You need to be able to put a rain jacket, notebook, water bottle etc. into it. I’m sure whatever gear you have will suffice for 3 months 🙂
