Alone is not always lonely

There is nothing like the wide open landscape of the highlands in the Atlas to remind you how small and insignificant you really are.  One only needs to take a walk through the grass next to the river and see how long it takes to move from one end of the field to the other.  As someone who comes from the East Coast, where in three hours, I can traverse my state, it always amazes me how big the world can really be.  Walking alone in this mountain meadow and overlooking the town below, I can feel my place in the world, and how I move with the pulse of the earth.  Hiking can be transcendent like that
