Trek View on Nepal: Himalayan Studies Gap Year Semester with Where There Be Dragons

Instructor Introduction

Namaste and Hello,

My name is Rebecca and I will be joining Tshetan and Michael as the third instructor for the remainder of the course. As Charis mentioned in her post, she’s had to return to the US for medical reasons. I’m excited to meet all of you students and spend the next month and a half living in a village, trekking through the Himalayas, sitting in a Buddhist retreat and simply having adventures with all of you.

A little bit about me. Currently, I lived in Hyderabad, a city in southern India but I was born and raised in Colorado. I left the US for the first time to study abroad in India. I fell in love with that country: the people, the language, the food and returned again and again as a student, school teacher and Dragons instructor. I’ve also worked on two semesters in Nepal and recently led Dragons’ first program in Bhutan. Ever since I first travelled to Nepal in 2015, it has been a special place for me and I always look forward to returning and exploring that amazing country with Dragons students.

Before the end of this week, I’ll be sitting with you all in Balamchor, drinking chai and sharing stories. There’s magic on Dragons courses and there’s magic in Nepal and I’m honoured to come share in some of that with you.

With anticipation!

Rebecca
