Trek View on Nepal: Himalayan Studies Gap Year Semester with Where There Be Dragons

Off on Trek

Hi family and friends,

Yesterday the Himalaya A group headed off by bus to their first campsite and have begun their two week trek in the Annapurna Conservation Area, deep in the Himalayas with fantastic views of the Annapurnas, Lamjung Himal, and other high peaks. They will be at lower elevations for the coming 5 days, including taking a rest day in Sikles, a small Gurung village that is also home to the Annapurna Eco-museum. From November 5th they will climb a bit higher, reaching their highest camp at 3900 m/nearly 12,800 feet! The group has a satellite device with them and will be in regular contact with the Boulder office and our local staff in Nepal, and we will be posting regular updates for them, including photos whenever the team has enough network data to send them. Stay tuned for more!
