Returning to the Sacred Valley!

The skies over our heads have been welcoming the first rains of the season. Our hearts are full from our community-oriented experience in Paru Paru, Parque de la Papa. Community leaders Mario and Celestino welcomed us with open arms and hearts and the students had a meaningful time in homestays, exploring trails of the region, learning about agricultural practices, and learning about natural building techniques.

We are in route to Urubamba where we will be spending a night and heading out in the morning to Machu Picchu.  The upcoming excursion will be part of a mini expedition challenge, in which students will be taking leadership over travel logistics and our time at Machu Picchu. We will head back to Cusco on Wednesday.

The group is doing well and some will be posting yaks this afternoon!  Students will also have some free time to connect with home today from Urubamba.  Please note that the best method for communicating with home is through Facebook or Skype.  Pay phones are also an option but less reliable and more expensive.

Gracias y hasta pronto,
The instructors
