Hello from Rebgong! Students are enjoying some well-deserved rest (and showers!) after a busy week of trekking and homestays. From Labrang Monastery in Xiahe, we trekked to a nomadic Tibetan homestay in Liqu, where we spent 4 nights with our gracious host families, then trekked two days to the town of Rebgong. Attached are a few trekking & homestay photos from the last week, including one with a Tibetan guest speaker who talked to us about life in the past vs. present.
In Rebgong, we are exploring the town’s monastery and visiting master thangka painters. Tomorrow we will be traveling to the Tibetan farming village of Sakor, where we will begin our second homestay. We send our love to family & friends back home!
