Dear Friends and Family of Bridge Year Indonesia Students,
We wish to formally inform you that Umi Akhdadiyah, the Bridge Year Indonesia Local Director, has decided to resign from her position. Umi made the decision to resign for personal and health reasons, and we support her in her choice to pursue what feels best for her.
Below is a goodbye note from Umi:
The Bridge Year Program has been my work, and also my life, for the past two years. I helped to set up the program from the beginning and it’s like my baby. My goal in life is to be happy. In order to be happy, I need to be healthy. That’s why I decided to resign for being the Local Director.
It’s been a hard decision. The homestay families are like my own family. The NGO mentor are like my best friends. The students are my soul.
I was so happy to be able to meet the parents in Princeton. It was very nice to meet all of you…
Ashley, Noa, Naomi, Esha, Oscar, Jon, Isaac, and Alex… you’ve been flowering my days with your love, terima kasih!
Happy to be part of Bridge Year Community, maturnuwun! (thank you in middle level of Javanese)
All the best,
Umi
