Bridge Year Indonesia Group Unaffected by Recent Tsunami and Volcanic Eruption

Dear Friends and Family,

This is to confirm that the Bridge Year Indonesia students are safe and sound on their way back to Yogyakarta from Solo. They were far from the areas affected by today’s Sunda Strait tsunami, caused by a volcanic eruption of Krakatau volcano further west. Sunda Strait is about 537 km (334 miles) from the city of Yogyakarta

We want to express our sincerest condolences to the friends and family of those who were killed and injured in the tsunami. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who have been affected by this natural disaster.

The Bridge Year group’s travels to Sulawesi will take the group farther east and even further away from the affected area. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Bridge Year Office if you have any questions or concerns.
