Hi everyone! My name is Abby.
I’m from Berlin, Vermont, a very small town. I’ve lived here my entire life and am so grateful to have grown up in such a beautiful place. It has taught me to respect and feel at home in the trees and the mountains and I’m really looking forward to exploring more nature and the different kinds of terrain it offers. I’ve been skiing since I was four so it’s very convenient to be a quick drive away from the mountains!
I love music, singing, and art. I’m a huge fan of 80’s music. My interests are kind of all over the place from psychology, anthroplogy and art history, to foreign diplomacy, and criminology. I’m really excited to learn about Bolivian and Peruvian economics and culture. I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to travel a lot and it has given me a much broader look on the world, one that is larger than my small town. It has taught me to be curious and accepting, but I am so excited to do a different, more immersive type of travel. I’m so ready to throw myself into absolutely anything. I look forward to improving and using my Spanish skills and be able to live with a host family to truly get a feel for a different way of life.
Last year, I was a freshman in college and decided that I wanted a break this semester. This is definitely the type of new experience I need in my life!
I have a lot of experience with hiking and camping but definitely never something this intense. I’m excited to challenge myself mentally and physically.
See you all very soon!!
