I’m Skylar, and I am so excited to meet everyone and start an amazing few months together! I am passionate about both eating and cooking food, running and hiking, meeting new people, and getting out of my comfort zone.

I spent the first semester of my gap year living in the middle of Tel Aviv, which was an exciting and intense experience. But for this semester, I am really looking forward to enjoying a slower paced lifestyle, soaking up the breathtaking views of Southeast Asia, and really experiencing what it’s like to be a local in small communities along the Mekong.

I’m excited to let loose and unplug from my life at home, immerse myself in different cultures, and just live in the present. In the words of Master Oogway:

“Yesterday is history,
tomorrow is a mystery,
and today is a gift…
that’s why they call it the present.”
