Hey Everyone,

It feels weird to write an introduction for myself when I’m going to meet you all so soon, but I’m gonna give it a try! My name is Annika, and I’m from a college town in Michigan called Ann Arbor. I went to a Waldorf school up until graduating from high school (if you don’t know what a Waldorf school is, don’t worry, you’re in the majority). I had always planned on taking a gap year, so I deferred from Lewis and Clark College for a year. During my gap year I went on a Dragon’s program to Indonesia, and then spent the following semester traveling by myself in Chile. While traveling alone was really fun, it didn’t compare to my experience with Dragons. I decided to go with WTBD because my sister had gone a couple years before me and told me about what an incredible experience it was. She was right, and those three months were definitely the most important months of my life (so far).

After my gap year I moved to Portland, Oregon to start school at Lewis and Clark. It was weird trying to adjust to the environment of a small liberal arts school after all the places I’d been the year before, but I’ve come around and actually really like it now. I’m majoring in Rhetoric and Media Studies, which I’m super excited about!

Anyway, I’m sure that in a few months we’ll look back at these introductions and notice how different everyone is from their first impression, but hopefully this post can at least give you somewhat of an idea of what to expect.

See you all soon,
