Monkey Business

I saw a monkey.

Earlier in the week, one of my peers shared his tail 😉 of spotting a monkey. I was in awe. A monkey, unencumbered by the bars and shackles usually keeping monkeys from the trees and forests in the states, I had to see it. Days went by as I continued to look over my shoulder each time someone shifted their foot or mumbled to themselves, I was unable to say I saw a monkey not in a zoo.

Then on February twelfth, a few minutes after the infamous milk tea was served, there it was. A monkey in the flesh. He ran across the courtyard without hesitation. He didn’t look at me, but boy, I saw him.

My spoken need was met. I saw a monkey.
