Hola after quite the trek!
the past few days made up the hardest hike/trek that I have ever been on, however one of the most beautiful and most rewarding. it took us three days and 2,000 feet in elevation change to hike from Huaran to Lares as we made it over a beautful pass. the first two days were mostly uphill as we headed towards the mountains. there were stunning views and it was as if we had entered a different world. i have been so amazed at all the natural beauty in this area. it felt like we were headed into lost lands as the mountains got bigger, and we got smaller. along the way we saw multiple glaciers up in the peaks above us. we camped and hiked in the rain, but it only made the area more beautiful. the green that surrounded us was stunning, and the grazing llamas and alpaca were cause for excited squeals and wide eyes. so far i have only been amazed by everything that i have seen, and i cant wait for more. it was so nice to end our trek over the mountain pass with a soak in the natural sulfur hot springs in lares, but even nicer to get a shower in after meeting our host families.
