ॐ मणि पद्मे हूँ

Golden hour fades away

as the sun melts into dusk.

A vibrant orange glow permeates through the sky

as I sit in awe, admiring Boudha Stupa.

Om mani padme hum.

Om mani padme hum.

The prayer wheels spin.

Akasha, vayu, agni, jal, prithvi.

The prayer flags flutter.

Women with wholesome wrinkly faces.

Slender men in saffron robes.

People from all walks of life

circumambulate the stupa,

sending their good thoughts, love, and compassion out into the world.

The woody smell of juniper incense pervades my nostrils.

The spicy taste of panipuri overpowers my mouth.

The mesmerizing sound of mantras inundates my ears.

The omniscient sight of Buddha eyes overwhelms my corneas.

The soft touch of the pashmina draped around my neck comforts my skin.

My senses tingle excitedly as I am filled with a feeling:

the unity of all things.
