ISP Cooking Day 7

Hello everyone!

Today we made a delicious meat stuffed potato snack with a cooked cinammon apple with a quinoa milk drink for dessert. These two dishes are named Papa Rellenos and Masamora de Quinoa con Apple Compote. I will be writing about Papa Rellenos and Daniela will be writing about the dessert.

Personally Papa Rellenos reminded me a lot of dumplings just with a much thicker and carbier exterior. I do not always enjoy eating fried food and for you health fanatics out there, I would recommend this excellent dish for a cheat day.

12 Onion

12 kilo Potatoes

12 tbsp Garlic

200g Ground beef

3 tbsp Tomato Paste

1 Carrot

100g of peas

1 tsp Salt

14 tsp Pepper

1 tsp Oregano

How to cook:

a) Boil potatos, carrots, and peas in the same pot *Make sure to cut the carrot into small squares before boiling.

b) Mince the onion

c) Put oil into a hot pan and add onion and crushed garlic, cook and add tomato paste, salt, pepper, meat, and cooked vegetables. Stir and cook while adding the oregano. *Make sure to cook each part for a minute or two before adding in the next item.

d) Add about a half cup to a cup of water to mix and keep cooking until the water has soaked into the mix.

e) Take out the cooked mix and let it sit in a container for 5-10 minutes to let it cool down a bit.

f) Peel potato and mash it. After add salt and pepper to the mashed potatoes.

g) Flour your hands and make a pocket of potato and add finished cooked filling. *Before adding filling make sure to thin out the pocket of potato in your hand as much as possible. If you wrap it before thinning, your final product will have a very thick exterior.

h) Close it up and roll it in egg. Afterwards flour it and fry it. Fry it for around 5 minutes or until it has turned a crispy brown color.

i) Take out your fried creation let it cool for a few minutes.

j) Add to final plate and enjoy!

Ciao for now! 🙂
