Onwards to Flores!

Hi friends and family,

We hope this finds you well. As you all back in America are transitioning into Spring (and daylight savings?) we are transitioning as well here in Indonesia. Tomorrow we are leaving Jogja, and students are currently preparing for the homestay farewell party and feeling bittersweet about saying goodbye to their beloved home for the last 3 weeks. We are heading east where our adventures will take us next to Flores, in East Nusa Tenggara. Before we begin our second homestay in Langa, we will be exploring the beautiful waters of Flores for our mid-course. This is a time for us to slow down, reflect, and enjoy the quiet landscapes around us.

This is also a time to intentionally “disconnect” and therefore our wifi and internet access will be very limited over the next week. So don’t worry if the Yak board is a little quiet, we will send updates and photos as soon as we arrive to Langa! Also note that in general from this point on, the students will have more limited access to internet cafes and correspondence might be less frequent. We will continue to post updates on the Yak board as frequently as possible – so look forward to more photos and stories from our upcoming adventures!

With gratitude,

Team Indonesia.
